Concept fact sheet #9: Personal TV & the ease of decision-making
An end to the agony of decision-making! IPTV users are not the first to be swamped by an unwieldy number of programmes on offer. The goal of finding a “guide to the programme jungle” has inspired developers since the start of private broadcasters, satellite television and Pay TV. “Personal TV” by Tzipory, Geva, Dayan from Tel Aviv takes this line of thinking one step further into the future.

The key idea behind “Personal TV” is simple and intuitive access to personalised recommendations. They are already there waiting, clearly laid out, when users sit down to watch. Based on their interests, their viewing habits and TV critics they valued, the users will receive tailor-made recommendations on their screens. In addition, they may plan their daily viewing and set PVR recordings while they are away from home, via the Internet or mobile device.

Well if I need “recommendations” for my TV program, I may get this from free online or commercial paper “TV magazines”,
we even have 2 great rating systems ( Thumb up/down, Stars).
In the Internet, there is the free IMDB and “special episode guides” for the most popular TV series.
Personal recommendations… sorry this sounds like “Network Marketing” or “Multilevel Marketing”, which are very negative terms: As here the recommendations is given to make money.
Especially as the audience of T-Home Entertain is *very* limited, you can´t get over the “hen and egg” problem - how to get the “critical mass” of participants, if even T-Home Entertain, to which your system is limited, doesn´t have this critical mass ?
Suggestion: Have a try in the real Internet with your system if you don´t win this competition
Sincerely
Rolf
