Award Log / The jury has spoken and the finalists have been chosen: Eight concepts for the interactive television of the future, five of them in the “Developer” category and three in the “Freestyle” category.

> DEUTSCH

Our internal jury, consisting of managers from Deutsche Telekom Product Management, Marketing, Venture Capital and Innovation Management, has now vacated the meeting room in the old T-Mobile headquarters in Bonn and I´m going to take this opportunity to jot down a few lines about the winners of this year´s first round.

Party mood in the Award, but also for Entertain users: Thanks to the innovation contest, there may be new TV apps on Entertain soon.

+++ Developer +++

“Interactive F1″ by TeraVolt (Hamburg)

The “Interactive F1″ concept from Hamburg-based company TeraVolt gives Formula One fans their own individual race track perspective, including interactive functions, such as additional information and voting.

“Entertain social TV” by Sevenload (Cologne)

The “Entertain Social TV” community application enables friends to chat in real time on the television and while on the move, using familiar networks like Facebook.

“Contextual Shopping App” by Delivery Agent (Denver)

The “Contextual Shopping App” means that additional information or shopping offers are just one press of the “Pause” button away from the current program.

“BabyCam-App” by IpAppMedia (Switzerland)

The “BabyCam-App” from Swiss media consultants IpAppMedia allows parents to keep an eye on the infants using the television.

“SportBet-App” by IpAppMedia (Switzerland)

The “SportBet-App” brings betting to the television. It will be possible to use the television to bet on goals at the next World Cup - and who knows, maybe real-time microbetting will also be possible by then.

+++ Freestyle +++

“Entertain for Kids” by TeraVolt (Hamburg)

“Entertain for Kids” from Hamburg-based company TeraVolt allows parents to use their own criteria in putting together a set of television programs for their children to watch. Home-made recordings, videos from the archive and on-demand content can be combined on an individual basis. A timed account determines how long children are allowed to spend watching television.

“Entertain TV together” by Oliver Caron (Ratheim)

“Entertain TV together” allows friends to link up by webcam so that they can chat while watching TV.

“Sing Kong” by Icareus (Helsinki)

“Sing Kong” is a community application for karaoke fans who want to test their singing skills with others and who would like to chat in real time. Time to start the karaoke jam session!

We will share some more details, including a couple of screens, over the next few days.

Today´s Twitter timeline shows the questions that concerned the jury when discussing the concepts.
